Scenery and Marine bird life

On our daily tour we pass close to the Needles lighthouse, which is 33 metres/109 foot high, we will pass at close quarters the impressive white chalk cliffs of Sun Corner which rise to a height of over 100 metres/328 foot.

As we approach and discover the old Smugglers Caves one can only wonder at the comings and goings of the vagabonds. If only the cliffs could talk!! We will pass close by the sight of a shipwreck of the VARVASSI 400 tons a cargo ship that ran aground nearby the Needles Lighthouse in a wee nasty storm on 5th January 1947.

On the way back you will have the opportunity to view the different coloured sands at the famous Alum Bay.

Bird life will vary according to the season, however we may encounter Cormorants, Lesser and Great Black Backed Gulls, Herring Gull, Common Tern, Shags, Guillemots, Razorbills, Fulmars and Puffins.

The changing moods of the sea make no two voyages the same. However we can not guarantee to see the wildlife mentioned above.

We will stop to take videos, photographs and for commentary along the way. We will also reduce speed and stop if necessary if anything interesting is spotted on route.

Personnel items can not be covered by our insurance and therefore extra care has to be taken of items such as cameras, mobile phones and personal belongings brought with you.
